When you think about Flower Power, you’re probably picturing loose-fitting legs, hippies, make love not war… The thing is, one of the most influential designers of the 20th century, Danish designer Verner Panton, introduced the Flowerpot VP1 during that period as well. This pendant light was designed in 1968 and has become a real classic.
Alongside this pendant light, the &tradition Flowerpot collection also consists of a table lamp and a bigger version of the pendant light. The design in itself is actually very simple and balanced: one hemisphere inside of another one that’s slightly bigger and a 3 metres long cable in the same colour as the shades. The hemispheres themselves are made of stainless steel and are highly sustainable.
The Flower Power era was characterised by, among other things, hippies, floral patterns and colours. This is reflected in the various colours of the &tradition Flowerpot VP1: beige/red, deep red, dark green, stainless steel, brass, matted white, grey/beige, mustard, white, copper, black/blue, light grey and matt black. The choice is yours!
Originally, this timeless pendant light was used only in restaurants and exhibitions, but lately it can also be found in a variety of living spaces. Thanks to its E27 fitting for lamps up until 40W, the Flowerpot VP1 is compatible with all sorts of light sources.
