A series of lights in four distinctive pendant shapes: Stout, Wide, Fat and Tall. Inspired by the sculptural simplicity of traditional Indian water vessels and available in four finishes all with a warm interior of beaten brass or silver plate.
The Beat Light collection consists of four different models, Wide, Tall, Fat and Stout. The series is a marriage between British design and ancient Indian craftsmanship. Tom Dixon, the designer, found inspiration for the Beat Lights in the sculptural simplicity of traditional water vessels and brass cooking pots, which are up until today carried around on heads across India.
Tom Dixon is already active for about twenty years in the lighting business and over those years, he became one of the more prominent players. The Beat Light is one of the bestselling lines in their collection, yet no two lamps are completely alike. The reason? Tom Dixon hires skilled craftsmen from India, who, according to tradition, beat the lamps by hand.
The lamps are spun from brass and sculpted by hand. On the inside the natural color of the brass is kept, which causes a warm light. The fine tagine-like shape, and the outside black powder coating, make this pendant lamp into a modern all-rounder, that will fit in many interiors.
Underneath the beautiful shade of the Tom Dixon Beat Light Fat, a g9 fitting is placed. For this lamp Tom Dixon advises to use a 33 Watt halogen bulb.
